    3. Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K760

    Top 5 PS4 Keyboards

Among the gamers out there, this is one of the top mentioned wireless keyboard for the PS4. The biggest plus with this keyboard is that it can sync to multiple devices. One person online said they used it for their PS4, iPad, and another device as well! Talk about bang for your buck! It may not be the top of the line mechanical keyboard, but it has some unique features beyond just compatibility.

So I hooked up a keyboard to my PS4, what can I do with it?

Well, aren’t you fancy, hooking it up just like that. For those of us who want a little more butter on our bread, here are some tips to hooking up your keyboard and ensuring the settings are where you like it. A wired USB keyboard will instantly be recognized and you will be asked to specify which user is using it. After that, you’re golden. Once it’s plugged in, you can change the language, key repeat rate, and key repeat delay by going to settings > devices > external keyboard.

For the wireless among us, the process is also simple. You can access the settings >> devices >> Bluetooth Devices. The system will scan for your bluetooth keyboard and pick it up automatically. From here, the steps and customization are the same as the wired keyboard. You’re good to go!

Now, once you have it set up, you can use the keyboard, and a mouse if you like, to navigate menus, browse the web, and type messages. All of this is much easier with a keyboard so convenience here is a big plus. As of right now, the only game that supports Keyboard and Mouse in-game is War Thunder which is a free-to-play flight combat game featuring a variety of classic aircraft combat.

The PS4 MMO Final Fantasy XIV also supports mouse and keyboard, which is good, because I don't know about you, but I like my MMORPGS with a little M&K, you know what I'm saying? Wow, that sounded better in my head. Let's wrap this up, shall we?

Keep in mind that only the basic buttons and functions will work on the PS4. All those fancy media buttons and cool touch pads that some of today's keyboards have won't work with PS4 games. For some people, this means choosing a more basic keyboard since they won't need the extra bells and whistles.

If you plan on using the keyboard for other devices like your PC as well, then why not splurge a little and get one of the top keyboards to use across all of your gaming devices? The choice is yours!

Play More PS4 Games With a Keyboard & Mouse Using an Emulator!

Let's say you want to play PS4 games, but you really can't get over the feel of a controller. Believe it or not, there are a few accessories out there that can convert your keyboard and mouse inputs into something the PS4 can recognize.

It may sound too good to be true, and it sort of is, but these devices also perform as promised for the most part. Let's take a look at four options:

    1. Xim 4 Keyboard and Mouse Adapter for PS4

This first choice is the highest rated of the three I found. It also happens to be the most expensive, go figure. It works with a variety of consoles, PS4 being one of them. It connects wireless to devices and allows you to download a manager to handle your configurations prior to hooking it up.

It works like a charm, so the only real downside is the price tag. Even so, this could open up a lot of potential for you to finally use a mouse & keyboard on your console.

    2. Tuact Venom X Plus

    Top 5 PS4 Keyboards

This is the next best option on the market and it functions much like the first example. It offers a wired and wireless mode, along with 1,000Hz ultra polling to limit any input lag. This device also comes with a mouse and controller combo in case you want to play with a different combination than simply mouse and keyboard.

Again, the price is a little high, but with the extra devices included, this isn't a bad deal.

    3. IOGEAR KeyMander Controller Emulagtor

    Top 5 PS4 Keyboards

This is the mainstream option that also sports the lowest price. This will work with a variety of games on your PS4 and supports multiple profiles if you wish to tweak the settings. What's more, you can use a single device for multiple consoles without changing the firmware.

    4. HORI Tactical Assault Commander Pro

    Top 5 PS4 Keyboards

While this is mainly for first-person shooters, it's a really cool option for hardcore or eSports players. The compact keyboard has mechanical switches, and the mouse is gaming-grade.

The buttons and mouse are programmed to act like the buttons and sticks of a DualShock 4 controller. It's actually officially licenced by Sony! To keep things fair, it emulates DualShock inputs, so it won't give you an unfair advantage, but it does have some interesting features:

    • Adjustable palm rest
    • WASD or Analog stick movement
    • Snipe Button and Quick Button for fast sensitivity adjustments
    • Three user profiles per platform (PS4/PC)

What do you think of these options? Have you tried any of them? We'd love to hear your thoughts on these unique devices!

So there you have it, my top picks for gaming keyboards that you can use on your PS4 and PC. Have any questions? Which one is your favorite? Do you plan on using a Keyboard on your PS4, and what games do you want to see support this control input? Tell us in the comments!

A quick disclaimer: the more expensive keyboards on this list will have a variety of special buttons. These buttons will work on your PC, but not on the PS4, so if you're just using it for PS4, consider a less flashy (but accurate) option from our list. Special thanks for the comment below that pointed this out.

Extra special button and functions not supported.

One thing is forgotten to mention here. The PS4 only supports the standard keyboard buttons. So special buttons like volume, menu, email, home, webbrowser and so on (mostly who need special drivers or software) are NOT supported on the PS4. Are you sure of mouse support, because on some keyboards with mouse/trackball I'd no mouse/trachball support.(only scrollwheel button worked as X button) I use a Logitech K360 keyboard. Also plug & play . So prefer a keyboard with only standard buttons, and not all kind of extra buttons, because they don't work on the PS4.

    Corsair K70

Problem is, the Corsair K70 doesn't recognize inputs. I would post a link to the playstation forums where I made a thread about it, but it triggers your spam filter :)

    Thank You

Thank you Ian, we will for sure check into that and update the article accordingly.

    Corsair Issue

Hey Ian, I looked into the problem you're having, and I actually get the same issue on the PC myself. On the top of the keyboard where the cord connects with the device itself there's a sliding switch. Look and see if the light beside it is blinking on and off. When this happens to me, the keyboard is totally unresponsive. What I do is slide the switch all the way to opposite side, wait a moment, and then switch it all the way back. This usually fixes the issue. The problem is that it's in BIOS mode, so the switch should fix the problem. I'm also looking into a product called the Keymander that allows you to play any console game you want with a mouse and keyboard! It could be too good to be true, but if it turns out as something worthy, I'll be updating the article accordingly. Let me know if that works! If not, I'll try to recreate the issue myself and get you another solution, or I will change the article accordingly. Thanks again Ian! - Bradley

    G Buttons

So all those extra G1-G18 buttons on the ones at the top won't work with ps4 am I right?
